Launched in 2016 at the initiative of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “the Night of Ideas” brings together leading international thinkers, scientists and artists across the five continents to ponder on global major challenges.
The 6th edition of the Night of Ideas will be held on 28 January 2020 on the theme “Near and Far”. A way to explore our relationship to space and to others, for each of us and within our society.

Monday 25 January – 2 PM
Memoirs of Myanmar students reviewing their study experience in France.







Tuesday 26 January – 2 PM
Interviews with Myanmar humanitarian and activism organizations which have adapted their practices to be able to keep reaching their communities in times of Covid-19.







Wednesday 27 January – 2 PM
Video recording of a philosophical walk In collaboration with a Franco-Colombian philosopher, Lucas Andrés RESTREPO ORREGO, who exchanges with a group on the topic of the rediscovery of the “encounter with the world” during the experience planetary “Lockdown”.







Thursday 28 January – 2:30 PM
At a time when the global health crisis is restricting international gatherings and mobility of people, the French Institute will offer everyone the opportunity to follow and participate in a unique digital experience, 24h of Night and Ideas, which will cross time zones from Oceania to the West Coast of the United States, promote the free circulation of ideas and knowledge and make local experiences resonate in a great global live broadcast on social networks.

In partnership with the NGO Humanity & Inclusion, participatory awareness-raising workshops will be offered to the public in order to open the debate and reflections on the issues related to disabilities in Myanmar.
