I have really enjoyed learning Burmese at IFB. There is a strong focus on speaking and listening, with clear explanations of the grammar and structure of the language. The teachers also explain the culture, and how it impacts the language, such as expressions and sayings. The teachers are all friendly, approachable and make the lessons fun and enjoyable. Each course builds on the last one, and it is one of the few places I have found that provides higher level group classes.
I think Ma Khine did a wonderful job, with much attention to each of us in the classes. She is patient, was quite flexible and kept smiling and repeating.
Burmese is not an easy language to speak (in a conversation course) but I went with great pleasure to the classes. About the syllabus, a pity that there's not word list with all translations. The audios were very helpful.
