To celebrate the “Francophonie 2020”, the Embassy of Switzerland in Myanmar is proud to welcome the Swiss artists Laurent Brunetti and Mario Pacchioli from the French-speaking part of Switzerland, and of the canton of Graubünden, to bring Swiss culture to Yangon.
Every year, the French speaking countries of the world are celebrating the “Fête de la Francophonie”, (celebration of the Francophonie) to promote the values, culture and language of the French speaking countries.
As a multilingual country (four different languages) with almost one quarter of the population speaking French as their mother tongue, Switzerland is proud to be a part of the Francophonie and in doing so, to promote language diversity as an asset.
In this context and in collaboration with the Embassy of France and the French Institute, the Embassy of Switzerland is organising the Swiss Duo Music event with the two Swiss artists Laurent Brunetti and Mario Pacchioli on 27 February 2020 at the French Institute in
Yangon.
The Embassy of Switzerland is proud to bring their program “Dream Catchers” (Pêcheurs de Rêves) to Yangon, and in doing so to bring the unique culture of the French speaking part of Switzerland to Myanmar.
From theatrical plays to musical reflections, the artists have patiently worked to offer a full understanding of the works in their programme for a Francophone as well as a non-Francophone audience.
Through a sober and effective theatrical interpretation, the language barrier disappears and lets the audience being carried away by the flavour and beauty of the French language, the moving melodies, as well as the energy created by the actors-interpreters
ARTISTS
Laurent Brunetti – Lyrics, vocals
Laurent Brunetti was born in 1973 in Vevey (VD) in Switzerland. At a very young age Laurent Brunetti was already performing in front of an audience. He keeps a pronounced taste for words and a marked need for authenticity with his audience. Inspired by the reliefs and shifts in life, Laurent Brunetti is a story teller of modern days with a nostalgic writing style. From Switzerland to Quebec, from Latin America to the United States, or from Asia to the South Africa, his career has been marked by numerous stage experiences. Whether accompanied with only a piano or a full symphony orchestra, Laurent Brunetti resonates his lyrics, his voice, in multiple artistic projects. He also writes for other artists. With five albums to his credit and an actor’s training, Laurent Brunetti is actively working on several new projects mixing the art of acting with musical performance.
Mario Pacchioli – Compositions, piano, vocals
Mario Pacchioli was born in 1981 in Ilanz (GR) in Switzerland. Mario Pacchioli started a precocious career with a classical piano and opera singing training when he was seven years old, already convinced that the melody would be the common thread of his life. Rewarded with a Gold Record in Switzerland and with four albums to his credit, Mario Pacchioli decided to perfect his art at the Musicians Institute of Technology in Hollywood (Los Angeles). Very eclectic in his artistic research, he later began his training as a theatre actor in 2009 at the «Academy Internationale des Arts du Spectacle» in Versailles. In his latest creation «REMAS» (2018), Mario Pacchioli pays tribute to his mother tongue, the «Romansh» (fourth Swiss language) and composes and signs the arrangements of a complete work for symphony orchestra, choir and vocals.
