Launched in 2016 at the initiative of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “the Night of Ideas” brings together leading international thinkers, scientists and artists across the five continents to ponder on global major challenges.
The Night of Ideas will place on January 30th 2020, and will focus on the theme: ‘Being alive’. Guests from diverse backgrounds – intellectuals, researchers, artists – will gather to discuss the theme all across the five continents, from Yangon to Los Angeles, not to mention Brussels, Buenos Aires, Kathmandu, Marseille and Paris…
In Yangon, the Institut français de Birmanie has decided together with close partners to focus on the theme “Living with HIV in Myanmar”. The Speakers will explore the everyday life and living conditions of person living with HIV, in rural and urban areas, within their families, in prison, …
The speakers will be:
– U Thawdar Htun, Ex chairperson of Myanmar Positive Group (MPG)
– U Aung Myo Kyaw, In-Charge of the Country Office, Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP)
– Dr. Aung Yu Naing, AHRN Health Director, Asian Harm Reduction Network (AHRN)
– Daw Sandar Aye, Community worker, Médecins du Monde (MdM)
– Dr. Pierre Boyer
The discussions will be moderated by Dr. Sid Naing, Country Director of Marie Stopes International – Myanmar.
