Are you planning to study, work, or immigrate to a French-speaking country?

TCF (Test de connaissance de la langue française), the official French language proficiency test by the French Ministry of Education, is now available at the Institut français de Birmanie (IFB), Myanmar’s uniquely accredited exam centre.

The TCF is designed for individuals who wish to certify their level of French for:

Academic purposes (students, interns, university applications)

Professional requirements (employment, career development)

Personal goals (immigration, citizenship, residency)

The standard, flexible TCF for adults (16+) seeking general French certification for personal, professional, or academic purposes (e.g., university admission in France). Candidates can often choose which skills (listening, reading, language structure, writing, speaking) to be tested on.

A mandatory, four-skill examination (listening, reading, writing, speaking) specifically for economic immigration to Canada or to support an application for Canadian citizenship. It is recognised by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The test required for those applying for permanent immigration to the province of Québec. Candidates are generally advised to take all four modules (listening, reading, writing, speaking) as the points system favours demonstrated oral proficiency.

The dedicated test for foreigners applying for official status in France, including French nationality (B2 level), a long-term resident card (B1 level), or validation of the A1 level for the OFII citizenship course. It assesses all four skills.

Your official TCF certificate will remain valid for two years from the date your results are issued. This date will be clearly indicated on the certificate itself.

TCF is available at the Institut français de Birmanie (IFB), Myanmar’s uniquely accredited exam centre, throughout the year.

For candidates aged 16 and above whose first language is not French.

For individuals applying for economic immigration or Canadian citizenship via IRCC.
